Negotiations between Sportland International Group AS and Swedbank AS were successfully closed this week. In the course of the negotiations, the structure of Sportland International Group was changed and the company underwent refinancing. The negotiations were conducted over a period of one and a half years, and the owners of Sportland, Mr Are Altraja and Mr Anti Kalle, consolidated their most successful company, AS Jalajälg, with the Sportland group in the negotiation process. Askembla, a former co-owner of the company, received a shareholding in the chain of health clubs My Fitness in return for their holding in Sportland. Mr Risto Vahimets, partner at Tark & Co, was elected as member of the supervisory board of Sportland International Group in the course of restructuring. Tark & Co’s partner Mr Risto Vahimets and senior associate Mr Kuldar-Jaan Torokoff advised Mr Altraja and Mr Kalle in the transaction. Sportland International Group is a company engaged in the retail and wholesale of sporting goods in the Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian and Ukrainian markets.
